It has been a little while since my last post, as I am trying to reformat the blog into more of a single-topic affair. Either way, when the new Tiger Woods commercial came out, it was just too easy to turn it into a joke. Enjoy my rudimentary film editing skillz. Byah!!!

The new NBA Jam trailer is out. I can say with confidence that this will be the first basketball game I will buy since NBA Street V3. Before that it was all NBA Jam, and it seems that the champ has come back to pry its crown away from the aforementioned cold, dead franchise. Here is the vid:

Should Lisa Frank sue James Cameron for ripping off her life's work with Avatar? I haven't fully fleshed out this idea, but I knew Avatar reminded me of some kind of 2nd grade girl's notebook for some reason.

Apparently, last night was a spotty one for the Oscars. I say apparently because I did not actually watch the program because I was busy watching Pam Halpert have a baby on demand. Also, I was fairly certain that a cursory googling this morning would save me a lot of hassle.
The Hurt Locker finally got the credit it deserves by taking awards for both Best Picture and Best Director, over James Cameron's 500 pound blue cat/gorilla in the room. Also, The Dude Himself, Jeff Bridges finally picked up some hardware, man. I mean, all the Dude ever wanted was his rug back, but this will have to do for now.
Tainting (hehehe) these awards was the mysterious gifting of an Oscar to Sandra Bullock for her performance in The Blind Side. I will admit that I have not seen this movie, but I am not particularly interested in after-school specials about people with funny fake Southern accents. Maybe someday I will appease moms and grandmas everywhere and watch it, but that day is not today. I mean, Jessica Simpson came out with a movie about having a silly accent this past year as well. Did the Academy pay her any attention? Absolutely not. To be fair, she does already have a couple of Golden Globes (pause for laugh track.).
I would not dare say that Sandra Bullock did not deliver the finest leading performance by a female of 2009. That would be crass. There were only cat people in Avatar, and the Hurt Locker was no-girls-allowed. Wait... "Precious," "Inglourious Basterds?" Uh oh. I just think that trapping Hitler and Goebbels in a movie theater and killing them while your face laughs at them in a cloud of smoke deserves a little deference.
You have to admit that it is strange that a film as raging as The Hurt Locker received the same award as "that boy is chaynging yer lahfe." Maybe I am wrong as my application to join the Academy was rejected due to my assertion that Down Periscope is one of the top 5 submarine movies of all time. Oh well.
Here is my award for best actress:
